Meet Beth Walker
I am so excited to share my enthusiasm for learning with your child! My goal is for your child to have a great time in class, while also building confidence and skills in reading. I believe in promoting student success through a patient, inclusive, and deeply encouraging environment. I meet your child where they are and help them to grow at their own pace.
Every child learns differently. I customize my online teaching techniques to match your child’s unique needs, abilities, and personal interests. Whether your child is just starting to learn letter sounds, working hard sounding out words, developing reading comprehension, or needing a guide to help them fall in love with books, I am here to help them thrive.
My early background is in creativity. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design from the University of Cincinnati and spent five years as a professional Graphic Artist. When I transitioned into online education in 2018, I discovered my love for teaching children and began working as an online reading and ESL tutor. As a stay-at-home mom to two creative and energetic boys with ADHD, I developed a variety of techniques to keep children engaged and focused. I also homeschooled for two years, teaching complete curriculums for second, third, and sixth grades.
Today, I channel all of my online teaching and personal experience into Learning with Beth. I bring my design skills directly into my teaching by creating custom digital reading resources. I use these specialized tools in my tutoring sessions to keep lessons interactive, visual, and perfectly matched to each student’s needs. Having built a reputation as a 5-star educator with many positive reviews on Outschool, I am excited to bring that same dedicated, patient support directly to your child’s reading journey.
